Job Description

Centerpoint’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services provide a full array of early intervention, counseling, treatment, and recovery supports for youth, young adults, families, and caregivers impacted by the broad range of social, emotional, mental health, and substance use concerns.

We are seeking a Program Director to lead, manage, guide, develop , provide, and/or supervise diverse aspects of Centerpoint’s clinic and community-based SAMH programming, including:

  • clinical operations and integrated service delivery;
  • program development, expansions, and enhancements;
  • recruitment, training, support, and development for an integrative clinical team;
  • access, admissions, outreach, and consumer engagement;
  • program performance and quality improvement, consistent with internal program principles and external regulatory standards;
  • certain administrative functions to support operational efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability;

Within Centerpoint’s Community Health Initiatives, and working closely with the Director of CHI, our SAMH Program Director will play a key role with referral, partner, and community relations. As a member of Centerpoint’s Senior Leadership Team, the SAMH Director will also carry key responsibilities with Centerpoint’s Equity, Social and Racial Justice work to center anti-racist, anti-oppressive practices and culture into all areas of SAMH programming. Additionally, this position will maintain direct services and supports for youth and families, as primary clinician, for purposes of modeling/training, as pilot for new practices, or in support of complex clinical situations.

Eligible candidates for this position are dually-licensed in an allied mental health clinical profession (Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology) and Alcohol/Drug Counseling (or dually-licensed within 6 months post-hire).
