About the Position
The part-time Organizer will help advance CPI’s education justice work by engaging and building power among students and parents to drive long-term change in the San Diego Unified School District. Working as part of a team, the Organizer will spend the majority of the time in the field, meeting and engaging people where are and
Build a base of student and parent leaders who will join the fight for education justice
Identify, recruit, and develop leaders through school/community activities, events, and one-on-one meetings
Organize turnout for actions, events, and public hearings
Present and promote campaign goals and values at community meetings, events, and meetings with public officials
Hours and Time Period
This is a temporary part-time position, for about 20 hours per week, starting approximately June 12, 2023, through December 15, 2023. Dates are flexible.
CPI’s salaries are competitive and reflect our commitment to economic justice and equal pay for equal work. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a pay range from $31.58 per hour to $38.87 per hour. This position is eligible for and receives paid sick leave and holidays.
