We’re looking for an experienced and versatile Development Manager who is eager to work within a small non profit with a big vision. Our ideal candidate has experience developing and executing fundraising campaigns and special events. She/he will be comfortable with day-to-day fundraising activities, as well as long-term strategy, thriving with tight deadlines and changing needs.
This position requires a minimum of 30-40 hours per week. Additional hours will be needed during intensive event or campaign periods.The hours are flexible, with the ability to work remotely for a portion of the week but requires residency within the Winston-Salem/Triad area. CCE’s offices are in the Flywheel Coworking space at 500 W. Fifth St. in Winston-Salem, NC.
Objectives of this Role
Grants-Maintain annual grant calendar and research new prospects. Draft grant applications & write reports at end of grant cycle
10th Anniversary Campaign- Take a leadership role in planning and implementation of the campaign which includes a $110k challenge for donor matches. Develop and solicit prospects for the match.
Update event invitation lists and sponsor prospects
Solicit these prospects in collaboration with Executive Director
Annual Campaign- Set up processes and implement procedures for successful bi-annual fundraising appeals for donor renewals and new prospects. Establish mailing lists, draft letters, and organize mailings.
Major Donors- Assist Ex. Director in developing a major gifts prospecting system. Develop creative ideas to attract new donors.
Collaborate with CCE team to develop impactful campaigns to be used in Impact Reports and other Development related material.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Work in partnership with the Executive Director and board to create a weekly task list to deliver on the grant and annual campaign timeline. Develop content and organize activities to reach goals.
Record all donations and pledges in Neon CRM and run reports as needed. Manager is the lead contact for this software. Assist with donor acknowledgements for gifts received
Meet personally with donor prospects to achieve goals. Track activity and follow up to close.
Coordinate with web developer to update donor pages as needed and ensure smooth user experience with online donations.
Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting on fundraising success.
General
Serve as liaison with the Development committee of the CCE board. Implement suggestions agreed upon in committee
Oversee the design and printing of CCE fundraising materials and collateral to be used for donor solicitation and grants.
Metrics- Develop and record KPI’s for CCE development activities
Draft press releases announcing grants, and major funding announcements.
Supervise interns when available to assist in development tasks
Programs
Collaborate with CCE team to ensure programs run smoothly, and attend programs and events.
Velocity and Kinetic- Support Ex. Dir in program enhancement as become familiar with programs.
Momentum- Assist team in developing strategy and programs to serve creatives; both existing members and attracting new ones: New member acquisition- Goal 5 per month
Skills and Qualifications
B.A. Degree - Master’s degree is a plus. Interest in Nonprofit Management & Fundraising focus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience w/ fundraising, grants, and developing annual campaigns
Strong project management, multitasking and decision-making skills
Metrics driven mind with eye for creativity
Experience and confidence using CRM tools
Our ideal candidate will be collaborative and flexible in working to complete goals and projects with a small team. The successful person has exceptional oral and written communication skills and can develop engaging content. The person is energetic, outgoing, and comfortable meeting with donors and clients. The job requires attention to detail and strong organization skills. The position requires an action-oriented team approach focused on results and the ability to react quickly to changing priorities. You should be a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations within our community.
