General Summary of Position
Our IT Consultant is responsible for handling 2nd and 3rd tier support requests, in addition to managing projects for client sites. This position relates to all technologies, to include: Mac & PC’s, Windows servers, printers, networks, firewalls, vendor specific hardware, & cloud software solutions. The consultant will also learn about implementing & optimizing EDR and NDR cybersecurity solutions in client environments. As a Sr. Network Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting with and managing a variety of network projects. This position involves exploration of environments and working with the team to design or modify existing environments to optimize productivity. Daily tasks will consist of projects (or assistance with tickets if required) involving configuring, documenting, installing, and troubleshooting virtual servers, firewalls, routers, switches, VoIP problems, and wireless devices. The engineer will also be expected to recommend solutions to mitigate risks related to network security vulnerabilities. The engineer is responsible for detailed documentation (in IT Glue) and procedures as required, as well as liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
8+ years of progressive experience in network support environment
Experience administering Cisco, Sonicwall, Fortinet, or Watchguard routers
Knowledge with network firewall policy administration
Architectural experience with WAN/LAN topologies
Experience with administering Meraki and Cisco wireless controllers
In-depth troubleshooting and analysis of Firewall/Network logs and packet captures
Experience setting up network device monitoring, data collection, and system alerts
Experienced in configuring High Availability on routers
Experience and expertise in network operations and service optimization
Knowledge of network management, network availability and capacity planning
Robust design and architecture understanding, security knowledge across multiple layers

Creative, proactive, exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Strong positive can-do attitude
Provide best --in-class IT Support involving Microsoft's core business applications and Operating Systems to end users
Mac skillset is also desired but not required
Knowledge of backup & disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Datto. Etc.)
Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN and secure RDP
System maintenance, documentation, & review in our PSA (Connectwise) & Wiki (Atlassian)
Excellent Communication with clients: keeping clients informed if incident progresses, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
Work with team to seek opportunities to improve knowledge, skills, and performance

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for entering time & expenses (as needed) daily in ConnectWise
Ongoing training & self-education in ConnectWise and other tools that we use as an MSP

Interest to learn new technologies & process as the industry evolves (SIEM, business process improvement, etc.)

Compensation:
Competitive salary, depending on experience Salary is negotiable
Probationary status for the first 90 days
