CellFE is a venture-backed company with a mission to make advanced therapies accessible to all by transforming the way gene therapies are manufactured. The company uses a microfluidics based cell engineering platform that can be adapted universally to enable low-cost, high-yield manufacturing of gene therapies at scale. CellFE's first generation of products is being developed for contract manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies that specialize in ex-vivo cell therapy and viral vector ("VV") manufacturing.

Position Summary:
The Head of Marketing is primarily responsible for developing campaigns, content strategy and the production of communications assets that support product management strategies globally. The role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent marketing execution, and business analysis skills with strong capabilities in effectively positioning and promoting products. Our ideal candidate will also have strong communication, project management, and coordination skills with an ability to work effectively with others to execute a wide variety of product marketing initiatives.
The successful Head of Marketing will ensure that the innovative products are designed with industry leading collaborative development and delivered to the market with a clear and differentiated value proposition. This role will be responsible for all market facing materials and will drive the vision of CellFE becoming the leader in cellular engineering and advanced therapy development and manufacturing.
This position reports to the Chief Business Officer. The candidate can be remote based or working from our Alameda, CA offices.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Coordinates Full Product Development, including voice of the customer and technology roadmap, will work closely with the R&D and development team to define product requirements.
- Identifies and develops content strategies to ensure the creation of assets that resonate with the target audience
- Oversees Go-To-Market Development and executes Go-To-Market strategies, ensuring partnership with the Scientific Product Management team to coordinate CellFE's technology portfolio and close collaboration with R&D to launch product marketing strategy globally.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop and scale digital marketing strategies, leveraging digital channels and campaigns to develop new leads.
- Defines event strategy, hosts Digital Events, and supports events at domestic and international meetings and trade shows.
- Ensures all marketing materials and strategies reflect an appropriate level of scientific content when articulating CellFE products to showcase the CellFE brand.
Other responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and maintaining scientific/technical knowledge of the CellFE Product portfolio
- Collaboration with external creative vendors
- Ensuring consistency in the branding, positioning, and messaging
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related Science and/or Marketing
- 10+ years related experience in a combination of science, strategic marketing, product management, or communications in a Life Sciences organization
- Strong product development and commercial launch experience and demonstrable proficiency with current marketing technologies is required
- Experience in a wide range of marketing communications principles
- Proven track record in developing, implementing, and coordinating assignments, operations, and/or programs.
- Demonstrated history in making decisions or recommendations that significantly develop or change organizational policies or procedures.
Competencies:
- Strong customer focus and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements with external partners
- Ability to write executive summaries, technical articles, and all forms of marketing collateral
- Ability to make effective and persuasive arguments and presentations on complex topics to internal and external senior management
- Ability to respond skillfully to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints and gain the trust of others
- Ability to listen empathetically, understand information presented by people with different communication styles and points of view, and resolve disputes
- Strong interpersonal communicator (written and verbal)
- Passionate about CellFE's vision, mission and values
