THIS IS NOT AN IT POSITION
This position provides expert level guidance for field installation, maintenance, operating, and training services for Company products and other products/projects. The incumbent will set and meet goals for projects according to project timelines, scheduling and financial targets, contributing to the overall annual department budget for revenue and utilization targets, and will ensure other onsite personnel are meeting targets as well.
o Successfully manages (on schedule/on budget) up to multi-million dollar construction/maintenance projects, or provide complete process/operating guidance for most of Company product lines, or provide complete installation/diagnostic services for most of Company product lines.
o Establishes action plans and priorities to support project/program successful completion, provide mature in-depth analysis of problems, and develop realistic solutions and ensure all onsite personnel complete assignments as scheduled/on time. Identifies and corrects more complex problems associated with start-up
o Provides technical advice to customers including commissioning, installing, and testing of products/equipment
o Provides expert level support services to Company across divisions. Examples could be complex technical challenges, troubleshooting projects, and joining sales visits to provide support as needed.
o Develops on-going relationships with customers to secure future business
o Researches, evaluates, and recommends new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs
o Provides expert level aftermarket service for either mechanical, maintenance or process areas to ensure 100% customer satisfaction in all areas related to the plant/mine
o Resolves/troubleshoots implementation problems and/or train customers on the features of the equipment
o Represent Company and Field Services in a professional manner on a global basis. Interface with a wide selection of company and customer personnel; relate to and engage with various global stakeholders at different levels with potentially differing priorities
o Serves as a primary contact for customers and quickly assist or reach the correct contacts for afterhours troubleshooting and problem solving as needed
o Liaises with other areas in the Company organization and support systems such as engineering, procurement and project management to facilitate on-site customer deliverables
o Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and/or technical education as well as work experience.
o Responsibilities may include managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision, and coaching, delegating and reviewing the work of lower level employees. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex
o Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities
Skills & Knowledge
o Mechanical, metallurgical, process, or industrial engineering degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience. High school diploma or equivalent required
o MSHA and provincial safety certifications
o Eight years or more of experience with minerals processing, construction/maintenance or lime/chemical industries
o Technical knowledge is demonstrated by advanced technical training and/or obtaining journeyman level in a skilled trade
o A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport
o May require frequent travel (up to 65% of work schedule) within North American region
o Work is performed in cement production and minerals processing facilities and mines, which require the ability to work in temperature extremes in addition to walking distances of up to ½ mile several times per day while traversing several levels of stairs and/or climbing in and out of machinery
o Requires frequent travel and working long periods of time away from home, often in remote locations with challenging living conditions
