Cavallo Point is seeking a strong and dynamic Restaurant General Manager for the newly renovated upscale dining experience. The ideal candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask and have a passion for excellence and service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Restaurant General Manager to be part of creating a new restaurant concept and a full renovation of Cavallo Point amazing restaurant.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, Assistant Managers and Supervisors in the restaurants and bar to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.
  2. Describe and ensure quality of all food/beverage items, ingredients and preparation methods, as well as provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive dining experience.
  3. The ability to work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef and Wine Director to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price.
  4. Monitors the department’s actual and projected sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded and opportunities are identified and addressed.
  5. Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
  6. Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control and cash control.
  7. Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas
  9. The ability to be visible in the operation, recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests as well as cultivate relationships with new patrons.
  10. Stays aware of market trends and introduces new food and beverage products to meet or exceed customer expectations, generate increased revenue and ensure a competitive position in the market.
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
  1. Works efficiently and timely at all times
  2. Knowledge in P&L as it pertains to the restaurant business
  3. Exceptional knowledge of Food and Beverage (Wine, Beer, spirits)
  4. Proficient in POS knowledge (Micros preferable), Avero and Open Table
  5. Assist in conducting the beverage inventory as directed by Director of F&B.
  6. Sets an above average example of service to line employees by interacting with guests.
  7. Directs details of particular service group (Servers, Runners, Bartenders, Host, etc.) to focus on streamlining service.
  8. Efficient at leading pre-service meetings to unite service groups and clarify details.
  9. Provide calm, efficient and effective leadership on the floor and in the back of the house at all times. Uses language that is welcoming and professional.
  10. Organizational, leadership and communication skills are a must to provide leadership for the employees to create legendary memories for the guests.
  11. Able to multi-task.
  12. Attends and participates in departmental meetings, leadership meetings and hotel employee’s functions.
  13. Assists other F&B departments when needed demonstrating team work within all F&B division.
  14. Close and cash out employees at end of shifts, ensuring accuracy and accountability for cash and banks for both Farley Bar and Murray Circle and Room Service.
  15. Proficient with Paychex to approve vacation, sick time, and time cards.
  16. Responsible to update Micros with necessary changes for a smooth operation on the floor by the servers and bartenders.
  17. Assists with payroll as required, correctly managing employee’s tips.
  18. Manages meal and rest periods complying with laws and CP policy.

  23. Follow and deliver 5 Star services’ standards, delighting guests by anticipating their needs.
  24. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. 3+ years of elevated dining experience as a manager preferably in a hotel or luxury environment
  2. Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language- additional language skills encouraged
  3. Ability to work evenings, weekends and Holidays
  4. Ability to lift 20 pounds on a regular basis
  5. Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, College degree preferable
  6. Must be able to work standing for 8+hours per day
  7. Must be trained in responsible alcohol service
  8. Basic beverage (Wine, Beer, Liquor) knowledgeable
  9. Strong POS knowledge (Micros preferable)
  10. Strong computer skills (Excel and Word)
