Job Summary: Manages projects within the Facilities Department and other areas as assigned. Assists with the overall direction and management of the Facilities Department, in alignment with the goals and objectives of Casino Del Sol and in full accord with all operational and regulatory policies and procedures. Ensures maximum guest service and satisfaction by the management of departmental operations and staff.

Assists with the overall direction and management of the Facilities Department, in alignment with the goals and objectives of Casino Del Sol and in full accord with all operational and regulatory policies and procedures. Ensures maximum guest service and satisfaction by the management of departmental operations and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Spearheads construction and special projects from start to finish as needed and manages such projects.
- Ensures optimal operational efficiency with continual contact and walk-through observation of all areas of responsibility.
- Assists in setting priorities for management staff and provides guidance as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates departmental performance on a regular basis. Works through management staff to take appropriate steps to resolve unsatisfactory results or conditions.
- Listens to, evaluates, and assumes control of guest problems and settles the same without delay in collaboration with the Department's management staff, where appropriate.
- Handles team member related matters and ensures that team members are treated and dealt with in a fair and equitable manner and are held accountable.
- Responsible for hiring, promoting, evaluating, developing, taking corrective action and other management functions with respect to team members reporting to the individual.
- Reviews financial statements and forecasts; gives input and ideas on how to cut costs in all areas of the department.
- Assists with general management of the Facilities department.
- Assists in formulating and administering departmental policies and activities and develops realistic short- and long-term goals and objectives for the Department in alignment with those of Casino Del Sol.
- Confers with department head to review achievements and discuss needed changes in goals or objectives resulting from current or projected future status or conditions.
- Provides oversight of project team members, including scheduling, enforcement of policy, training, and communication among and between all three shifts.
- Promotes open lines of communication with other departments that directly affect the Facilities Department; serves as a liaison for the Facilities Department.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Facilities operations to include knowledge of the standards, procedures, and techniques used in commercial and industrial construction, maintenance, and upkeep of commercial property and facilities.
- Knowledge of drafting basics and plan reading.
- Knowledge of applicable gaming laws (tribal, state, and federal.) and attendant regulations as well as Casino Del Sol Resort's internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of departmental policies, standards, and procedures.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices and principles.
- Knowledge of finance and human resources applications.
- Demonstrated forecasting skills.
- Computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond to internal and external inquiries or complaints ranging from guests to regulatory agency representatives.
- Ability to effectively present information to constituencies ranging from executive management to governmental agency representatives.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to provide leadership and develop team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and establish appropriate action plans.
- Ability to work in a smoking environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma and seven (7) years progressively responsible facilities/project management involving significant experience managing small to large projects and overseeing and managing multiple trades.
- Experience managing and directing trades and contractors to obtain maximum results and performance, including but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, drywall/paint, roofing, wallpaper, HVAC, flooring, tile, and paving.
- Proven track record of project management and contractor management and oversight.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, especially word processing and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated track record of leadership and providing exceptional service and quality.
- Demonstrated track record of reliability, responsiveness, and creativity.
- Demonstrated track record of training and managing a large work force.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
- Must have strong construction knowledge.
- Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Experience and familiarity with CAD.
