Student Leadership Council

- The CEF Student Leadership Council fosters collaboration, learning, sharing and advocacy to increase leadership development opportunities for student role models and mentors

The Position

The position will require complete coordination of the Student Leadership program with students of Carlsbad High School and Sage Creek High School. The coordinator will report directly to the CEO of Carlsbad Educational Foundation and work closely with mentors for the program. In addition, he/she will be responsible for coordination of monthly meetings, setting agendas, developing activities, securing guest speakers etc. In addition, the position will coordinate student volunteers at major CEF events and as student ambassadors at CEF funded programs.

Qualifications

  • Effective written and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Must be outgoing, a team-player and demonstrate professionalism
  • Experience working with youth in an educational environment
  • Detailed organizational skills and ability to handle complex assignments
  • Position requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Drive, and PowerPoint
  • Primary contact for CEF related to Student Leadership Program
  • Serve as liaison between students, CEF team, and board of directors
  • Coordinate SLC members volunteer efforts during CEF signature events
  • Oversee monthly meetings: agendas, guest speakers and leadership activities
  • Coordinate expenses and manage program budget
  • Facilitation of monthly meetings manage attendance records and volunteer hours
  • Recruit guest speakers, mentors and coordinate partner tours and activities
  • Develop leadership development activities and opportunities for students
  • Coordinate student ambassador roles for SLC members to speak at CEF funded programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary contact for CEF related to Student Leadership Program

Compensation

This is a part-time position with an average of 12-15 hours monthly. Responsibility for the program runs from August through June of each year, and is compensated with a $3,300 stipend annually.

Position requires commitments from August through June of each year; schedule may vary.
