OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking a Cloud Engineer III to work as a member of an MBSE team, collaborate with other engineering and science experts to apply Cloud Engineering principles into all components and processes that constitute collection platforms, associated PME/MEP, and processing, exploitation, and dissemination of data.

• Bachelor's Degree plus 9 years of experience
• OR Master's plus 7 years of experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works under direct supervision to provide Cloud Engineering support for all phases of C5ISR solutions for collection platform (airborne, spaceborne, land-based, maritime/submarine) research, development, design, integration, test, evaluation, and deployment.
• Develops Cloud Engineering solutions associated with the Military Service Clouds as well as the Intelligence Community Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E) (includes Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and VMware cloud solutions) to facilitate data strategies such as shared situational awareness and Edge-to-Cloud operation for collection platforms and Primary Mission Equipment (PME) and Mission Equipment Payload (MEP) to include collection sensors, apertures, processors, and other onboard mission equipment; as well as solutions associated with downstream processing and correlation of these collections.
• Develops a Joint Systems Architecture that distributes data so that it contains no single point of failure and may replicate data to a number of nodes across multiple data centers.
• Builds an architecture that enables a next generation C5ISR enterprise that will enable the Government to provide novel enterprise services (e.g., AI, ML) for a wide range of domains, disciplines, and against threats globally. Use Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles, perform Product Lifecycle Management, utilizing an Agile DevSecOps engineering pipeline to accelerate mission-tailored, scalable, and threat (CEMA) resilient C5ISR systems. Ensures end-to-end quality through the EngineeringEdge process. Builds flexibility, scalability, and rapid insertion capability into solutions through a maximally open architecture approach to development of hardware and software.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion for Infrastructure, ideally from a Cloud background
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure and their service offerings.
• Experience with DevOps source control (Git etc).
• Experience working with the Atlassian product suite.
• An understanding of DevOps tooling including Terraform & Ansible and experience using them to drive process automation, Infrastructure-as-Code implementation, and security.
• Experience with Cloud Networking such as Security Groups, VPC, Virtual Networks, Firewalls.
• Have experience with containerization concepts and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
• Working knowledge of Windows Server Environments, including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GP from design to implementation and support.
• Experience working with Cloud monitoring tools, either native or third party.
• General knowledge of Linux operating systems and their maintenance.
