Automation Engineer

An established and growing medium size manufacturing is seeking an Automation Engineer.  The compensation is $80,000 to $110,000 with excellent benefits. Growth opportunity for management.

The Automation Engineer will work with engineering and manufacturing to design and develop automated systems for new and existing programs. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Program programmable robotic systems and logic controllers 
• Help project manage new automation builds, place purchase orders for components.
• Research, quote, design, construct, program, install, groom, and document custom sensing, automation control systems, vision systems, and other computer/networking/data collection systems. 
• Work cross functionally to help solve technical problems.
• Maintain, upgrade, repair, and improve existing systems
• Fabrication, wiring, programming, and grooming of new systems and improvements to existing systems.
• Program programmable logic controllers and robotic systems.
• Work with automation suppliers and obtain competitive quotes.  
• Purchase, install, debug and troubleshoot equipment.  

Requirement:

5+ years of automation experience and electro-mechanical background, machine building and fixturing experience. 

Solid tooling and/or tooling fixturing background. Proficient with Programmable Logic Controllers and their programming.

Must be knowledgeable in many technical areas such as: CAD, Electronics, Electrical wiring, Electromechanical systems, Pnuematic/hydraulic systems, Computers, Networking, Inspection, Cameras, Motors, Robots, Various types of sensors, controls and their components.

Experience in machine design, assembly, i.e. mechancial assembly, electrical wiring, signal debugging/tracing; mechanical alignment.

Machining experience a plus.
