Our client is a family equity firm focused on the lower-middle market. They target family run businesses and have long-term projected exits. They partner closely with leadership, functional experts, and portfolio company management. 


The M&A Operations team is responsible for managing the firm’s commercial and operational due diligence as well as merger integration planning and execution.

The Research Associate would play a key role in evaluating and analyzing potential areas of private market investment and capital deployment. You would be charged with analyzing prospective investment opportunities, creating and modeling financial projections and monitoring transactions and data sets. Projects would range from commercial due diligence for platform companies and subsequent bolt on-acquisitions to the analysis of potential new business lines. The role interacts with a number of professionals across multiple teams and verticals. 

  • You will be responsible for helping preform commercial diligences for new platform companies the firm is considering for investment
  • As a member of the M&A Operations team you will assist with evaluating commercial diligences for bolt on acquisitions
  • You will periodically conduct analysis on potential business lines into which current portfolio companies might expand into
  • Maintain databases from various industry sources
  • Maintain excel industry models and PowerPoint industry presentations
  • Monitor relevant industry trends, news, transactions and data sets
  • 2-3 years of equity research, investment banking, consulting, investment management or market research
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong excel modeling and PowerPoint formatting skills
  • Broad knowledge of industry and financial data sets a plus but not required
  • Experience in healthcare services and/or industrial services is a plus but not required
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in analyzing a broad set of industries
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at a time
  • A willingness to collaborate and coordinate with across functions and teams
