POSITION OVERVIEW

The Customer Care Specialist is responsible for providing both internal and external customers with a complete understanding of how future and current customer insurance policies cover all products and assisting the Billing Specialist/Manager on determining payer specific billing requirement to ensure full product payment. This position is also responsible for providing outstanding customer service to current customers, dealing with customer inquiries, general product description and handling questions, and or complaints in a prompt, courteous, and concise manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Completes verification of insurances for product specific coverage including but not limited to obtaining confirming policy is active, obtaining benefits and any payer specific billing requirements.

  • Confirming customer orders while adhering to all payer specific requirements.

  • Resolves customer questions and concerns effectively and efficiently by actively listening, communicating clearly and concisely, and assuring customer understanding.

  • Ensures customer satisfaction and loyalty by consulting with customers, assisting customers, and resolving a wide variety of customer requests, inquiries and complaints. Document complaints and resolutions in concert with current business practice.

  • Utilizing customer database, he/she will document customer interactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, comments and actions taken.

  • Provides prompt and accurate service to promote customer loyalty.

  • Obtain necessary medical and other information required to complete the Medicare billing process.

  • Other general office duties within scope of training as assigned by the Billing Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma; college experience or degree a plus

  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the health care delivery team

  • Must be familiar with general use and functions of a computer, such as internet research, e-mail, basic Microsoft Office functions. Experience CRM systems, SAP by Design, a plus.

  • 2 years of medical insurance experience required.

Position is Temp to Hire, Mon-Fri 8am-5pm or 8:30 am-5pm. $13-14/hr to start plus monthly commission.
