Qualified candidate will work with individuals in our residential group homes. Should have experience dealing with individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. The BS develops, assesses, oversees, implements and monitors individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) of the assigned clients/individuals. Conducts appropriate assessments (including functional behavioral assessments) to develop or modify BSPs, as well as determine the efficacy of each plan through data collection and analyses. This position is responsible for providing direction and mentorship to residential staff relative to behavioral strategies. The Behavior Specialist reinforces clinical plans and skills and should be able to role modeling effective strategies and skills. They will encourage and reinforce positive behavior, as well as implement creative and corrective procedures to promote growth and development of residents. The Behavior Specialist will aid in training direct care staff in implementation of BSP plans. Trains team in the necessary intervention techniques so that plans can be correctly implemented and ensures transfer of skills to the individuals natural supports in the least restrictive environment. The Behavior Specialist should also be able to be on call during assigned hours.
- Master's degree in psychology, special education, or related human services field required OR Licensed Behavior Specialist
- Training in conducting and using Functional Behavioral Assessment & in positive behavioral support
