Job Description

Welcome to Care Access, a national network of clinical research sites. We are on a mission to bring a new healthcare system to life by making the clinical research process better, faster and more efficient. Care Access is currently seeking Patient Educators to participate in a new set of clinical trials for high profile nationwide studies. Candidates must feel comfortable using technology and have the ability to work from home as well as travel once per month. This person will interact with patients, discuss treatment options, and health concerns as well as medical decision making.

Full time positions are available, however many Patient Educators are hired on a Contract-to-Permanent basis.

Our goal is to engage every healthcare professional in clinical research and to make clinical trials a care option for every patient. Our philosophy regarding clinical trials allows us to maintain relevance and gives us the opportunity to work on groundbreaking and pivotal studies within the US healthcare system.

In the past we partnered with Ely Lilly on COVID-19 trials and were integral in their ability to establish the emergency use authorization for Bamlanivimab. Over the last year, we partnered with multiple study sponsors on various COVID-19 trials.

Important Abilities and Experience:

You must be fluent in English and Mandarin.

We are looking for passionate individuals who genuinely care about patient care and teaching. The ideal candidate will have had leadership training roles and can inspire confidence in their understanding of health care options. This role requires an experienced clinician who is proficient in interacting with patients, discussing treatment options and health concerns as well as medical decision making.

Experience with geriatric patients or volunteering with nursing home residents is highly preferred. A background in clinical research is important. An ability to input patient information into StudyTeam is also needed and very easy to learn.

Understanding how to talk to people and form/maintain good relationships (such as virtual client facing, customer service, or sales experience) will be used day to day. This role requires an experienced clinician who has worked with geriatric patients or volunteering with nursing home residents. Having a medical or research background is important to help you hit the ground running, but is not completely necessary.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Be the Patient Educator on a remote clinical research team supporting teams that travel to nursing homes to skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
  • Be an integral and valuable member of a clinical research team

  • Ensure warm handoffs between team members with the patients who choose to participate in the study
  • Support the larger clinical research team
  • Coordinate with Patient Education Leadership Team via weekly zoom meetings, slack messaging and emails

Required:
