Summary of Role:
As a Business Developmet Representative, working with DoD, Federal and State/Local Government accounts, you will create the first impression through business development activities, follow-ups on their inquiries and from our marketing/channel programs. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to successfully manage a high volume of activity to achieve activity-based metrics, as well as experience establishing credibility with decision makers. A successful candidate will maintain active engagement with their prospects and consistently deliver pipeline opportunities to the sales organization.
This position will require the candidate to:
Collaborate with Military/Public Sector Sales team
Attain daily activity metrics - outbound calls, decision maker contacts, qualified leads
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills through all levels of communication
Understand our Federal/State Government organizational dynamics and probe to discover current recruiting methods, contract paths, and key decision makers
Coordinate processes with internal, external and/or third parties when necessary, both for yourself and on behalf of Account Management and for the VP of Military/Public Sector Sales
Input and track all prospecting and lead management activities in Salesforce.com.
Develop relationships at all levels in the customer organization from the C-level to regional managers to individual contributors.
Participate in regular structured sales & training programs to improve sales performance and encourage team selling.
Gain and maintain a good knowledge of CardTapp’s platform and offering.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent mix of education and experience
Previous public sector (especially Dept. of Defense) work or contracting experience. Security clearance is NOT required.
Prior U.S. military service strongly preferred
Previous experience in an Inside or Outside Sales role required
Previous experience selling a SaaS software platform preferred but not required
Excellent communication skills in both writing and speaking
Strong technical aptitude
Great attitude and a love for helping others succeed

Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Cool and calm demeanor when customers are neither cool nor calm

Experience with Excel, Zendesk, and Salesforce strongly preferred
Must have served in US Armed Forces and have a DD214 with an honorable discharge.
