Summary of Role/Position

The facilities supervisor keeps the facility running efficiently by overseeing both personnel and equipment. Monitors, makes repairs and adjustments to the facility equipment, including but not limited to all lift equipment, charging systems, emergency backup generator, spotter truck, sweeper and conveyor systems. Assists with maintenance of physical plant and special projects as assigned. 


•    Inspect building to identify maintenance issues, such as clogged drains, leaky ceilings and faulty electrical switches. 

•    Report issues and create work assignments for the staff.  

•    Reviews assigned job orders on a daily basis and determine work priorities. Makes necessary repairs and/or adjustments to equipment, complete all assigned maintenance tasks in a timely manner and in accordance to standards.  

•    Perform preventative maintenance tasks in accordance to schedule and standard. Make major as well as minor repairs and/or schedules equipment for repair. Work with Supervisors to ensure utilization of equipment and rotation schedules. 

•    Inspect equipment on a daily basis or as needed for conformance with operational and safety standards. 

•    Submit requisitions for tools, equipment, parts and supplies required to maintain equipment operations. 

•    Oversee workers, as well as perform human resource and administrative duties, such as hiring, training and promoting. Motivating employees, resolving disputes and conduct performance evaluations. 

•    Create periodic reports, work schedules, employee payroll processing, and budget planning. 

•    Maintain inventory, such as cleaning supplies, tools and office supplies.  

•    Other duties as assigned or necessary. 


•    Bachelor’s degree preferred; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

•    Basic reading, writing, and math.  

•    OSHA certified in equipment operation. 


Occasionally: activity exists up to 1/3 of the time (8 hour shift = less than 3 hours total time)

Frequently: activity exists from 1/3 of the time up to 2/3 of the time (8 hour shift = 3-5 hours total time)

Constantly: activity exists 2/3 or more of the time (8 hour shift = 5-8 hours total time)
