Position Title:Teacher (Arts Enrichment)

Reports to:Assistant Principal

Supports:Teachers, Team Teachers

Primary Team:Program Team

Minimum Qualifications:BA


General Description of Responsibilities

· Develop a rigorous, objective, and standards-driven arts enrichment curriculum inclusive of, but not limited to, visual arts, music, and theater arts

· Execute arts enrichment lessons across all grade-levels and classes

· Provide support and curricula coaching to team teachers and/or instructional assistants executing arts enrichment curricula

· Develop standards-based art-enrichment assessments (e.g. written, oral, performance task, project-based)

· Develop standards-based arts enrichment progress reports

· Design, direct and produce school productions annually

· Design and direct components of grade-level and school wide community meetings

· Develop a CCA Song Book (inclusive of the grade in which songs are introduced and expected to be mastered)

· Work with the Director of Culture & Student Services to research, select and execute arts enrichment-related field trip opportunities (external and/or in-house)

· Work with the Director of Culture & Student Services to develop arts enrichment related curricula to be utilized within Afterschool program

· Work with grade-band leads and/or teachers to develop and execute grade-level arts-enrichment special events (e.g. 2nd grade Art Show; Kindergarten ‘concert’ night)

· Provide regular comprehensive feedback to students on work / projects (both verbal and written)

· Strong coordination with teachers on, behavior, and classroom culture and expectations

· Support of student interns, as appropriate and needed

· Outcomes: Strong student outcomes in arts enrichment standards

· Outcomes: A robust grade-level and school wide arts enrichment program

· Teach and enforce school-wide culture, systems, and expectations

· Use best practices in behavior management, utilizing a proactive and positive intervention strategy

· Use of taxonomies for culture in order to create a supportive, positive, and collaborative classroom culture

· Strong radar and prevention techniques for behaviors

· Demonstrate leadership in school events (field trips, community spaces, activities, etc.)

· Outcomes: Students demonstrate strong growth in social-emotional learning skills

· Outcomes: Strong results in student and family surveys of culture and climate

· Actively participate in professional development as both a leader and a learner

· Active and positive participation in all school events and activities

· Eagerness to develop at all stages of career, inclusive of coaching and modeling

· Ability to engage in professional discourse on growth and development opportunities

· Implement clear communication systems to regularly communicate with families around all arts-enrichment related content, activities and events

· Engage in student home visits with teachers, as requested, to support ongoing connections with families as support systems

· Attend and participate in all school activities or grade-level events (some of which will occur outside of the traditional school day)
