Therapists will provide services to include counseling, crisis intervention, resource and support system development, and case management for families and children involved with a variety of populations, with DCS/Probation, pre-adoption and post-adoption services. Structured, goal-oriented, time-limited therapy in the natural environment to assist in recovering from physical, sexual, emotional abuse, and neglect, mental illness, personality/behavior disorder, developmental disability, dysfunctional family of origin, and current family dysfunction.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Provide all required documentation in a timely manner, which may include client follow-up, outcome evaluation, client contact sheets, and evaluations

2. Ensure that all documents submitted on behalf of a client are valid

3. Input accurate and complete data for all contacts with clients into agency database

4. Be effective with reducing, maltreatment, improving caretaking, coping skills enhancing family resilience.

5. Complete an assessment with the family in an effort to develop appropriate/necessary recommendations for future success

6. Provide individual, family and group counseling to assist the client system in coping with and resolving crisis situations, and guide them in decision making and strengthening client’s existing support network.

7. Set and observe appropriate boundaries with clients; observe client confidentiality and HIPPA protocols

8. Ensuring help to safely maintain children in their homes (or foster home);

9. To track all time spent for a client and complete monthly reports. Submit the monthly report to Supervisor on the first working day each month

10. Attending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences

Skills:

· Must be able to work for and with a number of persons

· Must be able to work under stressful conditions

· Ability to apply sound and mature decisions

· Consistent attendance is general qualification for this job

· Good documentation skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to establish rapport

· Knowledge of child abuse/neglect, and child/adult development

· Knowledge of community resources and counseling/social work practices with high risk population
