Manufacturing Release Validation Engineer

CAPITAL INDUSTRIES, a dynamic and growing custom engineering, automation, and manufacturing services company is seeking candidates with manufacturing material properties knowledge for its facility in Shelbyville, IN. Prime candidate will enjoy the challenge of ensuring mechanical designs can be manufactured with commonly available manufacturing methods. Capital Industries focuses on the design and build of custom industrial equipment for manufacturers in most any market including, but not limited to, automotive, pharmaceutical, aerospace, battery, and consumer products.

Responsibilities:

· Analyze models for interference or assembly issues

· Approve detailed manufacturing prints

· Approve release of build books for manufacturing use

· Verify Bill of Materials (BOM) and BOM exports to Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) system as required

· Provide direction in determining material selection, surface finish and/or heat treatment methods

· Ensure that revision hardcopies are released to the appropriate departmental areas

· Collect redlined drawings for revision modifications

· Participate in Design Reviews to capture design intent of system and supporting elements

· Lead project post-mortem reviews and update best practice documentation with findings

Requirements:

· Post- secondary college diploma, engineering degree or equivalent experience, specializing in electronics, electrical, mechanical, systems, product or systems engineering.

· 5+ years 3D SolidWorks experience

· Knowledgeable of manufacturing material properties and processes (i.e. machining, welding, assembly work)

· Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

· Thorough knowledge of drafting principles

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Capable of working as part of an integrated engineering team

· Ability to work under aggressive timelines

· Proficient in MS Word, Office, Excel & Project

Physical Requirements:

· Frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds

· Occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds

· Frequently required to walk, stand; go up and down stairs, use hands/arms; talk and hear

· Occasionally required to bend, stoop, reach, twist
