SUMMARY
Production Supervisor will assist the Production Manager in overseeing the produce packing line. The Production Supervisor will compile orders and ensure that produce is ready for shipment and lead their team, which includes, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, directing work, writing performance reviews and managing employee relations situations.
This is a 4 day, salaried position with two open schedules: Sun-Wed, OR Wed-Sat
Pay: $50k-$55k per year, and quarterly bonus pay!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise Packers to ensure productivity (and all related supervisory duties: interviewing, hiring, coaching, training, writingperformance reviews, addressing concerns, communicating on regular basis with team and managing employee relations situations as they arise)
- Ensure packing line runs efficiently
- Monitor inventory of produce using custom software
- Monitor quality control of produce
- Make sure quality meets customer specifications
- Ensure that packing machines are in working order
- Assist packers as necessary, including the following duties:
- Weigh cartons on scale to insure proper weight of product
- Place cartons on pallets for shipment
- Assist dock workers as necessary
- Operate forklifts (following proper training)
- Operate electric and manual hand jacks (following proper training)
- Unload bulk produce or palatalized produce from semi trucks
- Load bulk produce or palatalized produce onto trucks
- Ensuring established HACCP procedures are being used
- Create production work orders in the Edible software system
- Ensure systems in place for trace back
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Occupational Safety Procedure and all Food Safety guidelines related to the position or being on the Warehouse floor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages production employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Willing to learn specific knowledge of physical attributes of produce. Knowledge and ability to monitor the quality of produce. Ability to determine grade and size of produce. Knowledge and ability to pack and wrap produce for shipment. Knowledge or willingness to learn managing a team, redirecting employees and problem solving skills.
Supervisory Experience – 2 years (preferred)
Education – College degree (required)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, in person, and in writing. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common sales documents. Ability to communicate bi-lingual in Spanish or Vietnamese language is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Some independent decision making and problem solving abilities are required to complete orders as well as assist staff and customers. Ability to perform basic math calculations
REASONING ABILITY
Mental capabilities to analyze produce and grade and sort according to customer requests.
Independent decision making and problem solving abilities are required to determine scheduling, goal- setting, productivity standards, and process improvement. Logical thinking, the ability to manage multiple tasks and common sense are also necessary to accomplish tasks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Lift and carry weights ranging from 0 to 25 pounds with frequency.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of weights ranging from 26 to 75 pounds.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping
- Frequent standing
- Frequent operation of equipment
- Occasional sitting, climbing and reaching above shoulder height
- Frequent repetitive hand movements/grasping
- Good vision, corrected to normal
- Good hearing, corrected to normal; or ability to communicate/understand required information and to perform job duties
- Ability to be mobile throughout required work areas
Anticipated hours per week: 50 (Hours are cyclical based on product demand and overtime may be required)

General warehouse conditions exist. Moderate temperature conditions. Minimal exposure to cooler temperatures (38 degrees Fahrenheit). Minimal exposure to elements or chemicals. Extended hours may be required. Exposure to moving equipment/machinery. The working conditions may include moderate noise levels.

Hours: Sunday through Wednesday, up to 50 hours some weeks or you may elect a 5 day work week up to 50 hours some weeks.
Pay Range: Between $50,000 to $55,000 per year
