Sr. Human Resources & Compliance Manager

DESCRIPTION:
Canvas is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sr. HR and Compliance Manager to join our corporate staff! This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, dynamic team! This role requires a highly motivated people-person who can represent Canvas in a professional, positive manner. Our Sr. HR and Compliance Manager must be able to manage a team, coordinate with several people on a daily basis, be enthusiastic and outgoing with our workforce, and detail-oriented and organized enough to manage compliance, which will require detailed tracking and data analysis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interface with Executive Leadership and company Directors on a regular basis. This is a Hybrid role requiring minimum of 3 days in office with 1-2 days of telework permitted each week based on workload and team schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Manages ISO 9001 Certification and Quality Management System.
- Manage and coordinate all employee benefit plans (Health, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D, LTD, STD, 401(k), FSA, etc.) with third-party administrators and carriers.
- Manage HR and Recruiting team members, to include performance, team dynamics, and process flows. Create, maintain, and implement human resources policies, processes, and procedures.
- Research, negotiate and implement employee benefits plans that are cost effective for the organization while meeting the health and welfare needs of employees.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process utilizing Deltek Costpoint Employee Self Service tool.
- Coordinate with HR staff to ensure all benefits are administrated properly and communicated to diverse population of employees. Ensure changes are implemented in a timely manner and invoices are reconciled. Ensure employees are assisted with claims and issues.
- Ensure HR staff conducts new employee orientation to provide a warm welcome to new employees and to help them onboard in a timely, effective manner. Help new employees have a great first day, and provide proper training for timekeeping, company policies and procedures, and helping new employees enroll in and understand company benefits.
- Ensure HR staff maintains organized, thorough personnel files, and that HR staff responds to employees in a responsive, positive manner to answer questions and assist with issues.
- Ensure HR staff is prioritizing recruiting for hot jobs to attract new talent for vacancies. Assist Recruiters in building a talent pipeline for long-term growth strategies and building company bench strength.
- Manage Annual Employee Performance Review process.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the company's legal obligations as to the FMLA, ADA, EEO/Affirmative Action, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment, and other employment laws. Compile and submit regulatory compliance data to include EEO reports, end of the year 401k reporting, ACA reporting for the 1095-C documentation, and VETS reporting.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Coordinate with corporate staff, to include Accounting, Payroll, Contracts, Project Controls, Travel & Events to maintain corporate battle rhythm and to ensure all personnel changes and issues are managed and communicated in a timely, effective manner
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5-10 years relevant experience in HR, to include at least 3 years of experience managing HR team members, processes, and compliance
- Familiarity/experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficient with Deltek/Costpoint People Module and Microsoft Office Suite
