Sr Scientist, Sftware Research

Senior Scientist, Software Research conducts research with the intent to develop new technologies. Senior Scientists are professionals who have mastered the basic functions of their role and are now fully qualified to handle more complicated research issues. May mentor or supervise one or two less experienced staff.

- Initiates the design, development, execution and implementation of technology research projects

- Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems

- Focus on creating and designing predictive models for software solutions.

- Plan and execute applied research.

- Maintain broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

- Make contributions to scientific literature and conferences.

- May act as spokesperson on corporate research and development and advise top management.

- Participate in development of patent applications.

- Interface with various departments and serves as internal consultant.

- Education Required: M.S. or Ph.D. in a related field such as Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, etc.

- Experience Required: Minimum 6 years' experience in scientific/software research and development, with 3+ years' experience in an industry setting preferred.

- May require considerable travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary). Additionally, because this position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job, must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies
