Location:               District wide

Reports To:           Assistant Superintendent

FLSA Status:         Exempt

The Licensed Professional Counselor will be available to counsel at all 3 campuses. The counselor provides therapies to students, staff, faculty, groups and families to promote optimum mental health. The counselor utilizes their unique skills and treatment modalities to meet the needs of the individual requesting services.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may apply.


·         Provide individual mental health counseling to students and staff as needed on a district level.

·         Provide crisis assistance at all three campuses.

·         Liaison for community resources to students as well as staff.

·         Address mental health and mental illness, depression, anxiety, and abuse for students and staff.

·         Ability to work with and provide assistance to families and guardians when needed.

·          Provide professional development sessions to school-based faculty and staff.

·         Provide counseling to a wide variety of groups and individuals.

·         Ability to maintaining confidentiality.

·         Ability to support the mission and vision of the school and goals of administration.

·         Engage in campus and district-wide activities in order to build connections and relationships with all staff.

·         Other duties as assigned.



§  Work cooperatively and positively with all stakeholders, faculty, staff, and administration.

§  Participate in the team management process by serving on committees.

§  Attend and participate in faculty meetings.

§  Maintain professional competence though participation in the staff development, in-service activities, and selected professional growth activities.

§  Assist in upholding and enforcing the rules and regulations of the Board of Education.

§  Develop individual goals and objectives that are consistent with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school.

§  Participate in the evaluation process with the assigned administrator.

§  Maintain professional growth through participation in professional organizations.

§  Attend the annual Oklahoma Career and Technical Education conference in August and other conferences and workshops as required.





Certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor, with two years’ experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.



Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.



Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 



Master’s degree; minimum of two years recent experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Experience in a school setting is preferred.



Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google doc; Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills; Excellent personal conduct and integrity; Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships. Ability to travel across the district is required; must possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
