MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI) TECHNOLOGIST

Canadian Health Labs (CHL) is a national healthcare solutions provider contracted to provide healthcare services for various public and private sector organizations throughout Canada. This is an opportunity to contribute to keeping Canadians safe and healthy while getting to explore new locations across our beautiful country.

As a Traveling MRI Technologist, you will be crucial in providing high-quality ultrasound imaging services to patients at different healthcare facilities. You will be essential to our team, ensuring patients receive the utmost care and attention during their medical journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Explain the MRI process to patients and ensure the patients comply with all safety standards.
  • Positioning and possibly sedating patients to capture clear images of the correct body area.
  • Removing and then replacing IVs and catheters for the MRI process.
  • Maneuvering the MRI equipment and positioning it to capture the correct images.
  • Monitor patients during scanning and maintaining patients' records.
  • Monitor MRI equipment functions.
  • Ensuring clear images for Physicians to provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Recognize abnormalities and irregularities in images.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality in accordance with NSHA policies and procedures and the Nova Scotia Personal Health Information Act and associated Regulations.
  • Complete all required documentation by the end of shift.
  • Knowledge of all emergency codes and participation (as applicable) in emergency response teams
  • Excellent attention to detail for accurate reporting and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MRI exam and certification Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure required.
  • Previous recent clinical MRI experience required a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of recent Canadian full-time experience.
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and recognize when consultation is needed.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Must be able to travel domestically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively as part of a diverse team.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per provincial Immunization Policy.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check.
