Overview
CampHire is recruiting Registered Nurses & LPNs to work at a premier outdoor school outside of Portland, OR. If you are an RN/LPN looking to provide care to children this Spring, this is the job for you! Nurses live onsite and manage the Health Center, providing top quality care to campers and staff. This is a contract position from February 17th to June 2nd, 2023.

This is an outdoor school position that requires relocation during the spring. Onsite housing is provided. Must be vaccinated for Covid-19.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to the outdoor school community.
• Regularly communicate health and safety tips to campers and staff, including visiting bunks and monitoring overall wellbeing of campers and counselors.
• Review student medical records and partner with parents and staff to create tailored health plans that adhere to camper needs.
• Organize daily distribution and administration of medicine to students.
• Ensure allergies are handled safely and that campers with dietary restrictions are taken care of during mealtimes.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies.
• Occasionally act as overnight nurse.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, treatments, and incident reports.
• Prepare first aid medical kits for weekly off-site trips and overnights.
• Oversee postseason closing of Health Center.

Qualifications

• Must be Covid vaccinated
• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Physical ability to respond to situations requiring first aid, routine interventions, and emergencies.
• Experience working in pediatrics preferred.
• Experience working at outdoor programs preferred.
• Current Oregon driver's license, good driving record, access to vehicle and insurance coverage in compliance with ESD policy.
• Preferred experience with interpreting the guidelines and procedures related to COVID-19

Compensation & Perks

• RN: $32 - $42 /hr based on experience and background.
• LPN: $27 - $32 /hr based on experience and background.

Private adult housing provided. All meals included.
