Overview
CampHire is recruiting a General Manager, Executive Camp Director to join the team at Woodward West, an overnight action sports camp in Tehachapi, CA that serves 1500+ campers each summer. This is a full time, year round position that is based onsite throughout the year.Compensation starts at $95k plus an annual bonus target of 30%.

The General Manager for Woodward West is a dynamic, thoughtful, and innovative leader that is responsible for all aspects of camp operations. This is a senior management-level position that requires significant people leadership experience and a deep knowledge of the action sports industry. This position oversees the design and evolution of all sports programming including skateboarding, BMX, mountain biking, parkour, and acrobatics.

This role provides the opportunity to craft the future vision for Woodward West. The GM partners closely with leaders from Woodward's parent company, POWDR, to build strategic plans and effectively manage business financials. What You'll Do

• Lead a team of 4 full time directors who supervise 200+ seasonal staff including counselors, coaches, medical staff, administrators, and hospitality professionals.
• Create a culture of professional development and a community that reflects core values around Diversity Equity & Inclusion.
• Lead all aspects of day-to-day operations and activities at camp including management of camp facilities, programming, and experience.
• Establish operating principles, standards, and performance metrics to ensure operational consistency and high quality service delivery.
• Drive financial results in accordance with annual budget and revenue targets. Provide financial updates to senior leadership on routine basis.
• Develop Woodward's Strategic Plan (WSP) which includes annual budgeting, capital planning, and future vision of programs and site upgrades.
• Oversee the design and implementation of immersive learning programs that empower progression and are tailored to ages and abilities.
• Expand Woodward's impact by building strong community relationships, championing DE&I initiatives, hosting local engagement activities, and advancing Woodward's "Play Forever" environmental pledge.
• Build relationships with athletes and partnerships with sport associations to strengthen Woodward's brand reputation as an elite program.
• Handle compliance requirements of federal, state, local and ACA agencies. Handle all legal matters related to general liability, labor and, property rights.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5-10 years of senior leadership in the action sports or outdoor recreation industry
• Experience running a business unit and scaling operations and revenue centers
• College degree in business or related field, MBA preferred.
• Must live within driving distance of Tehachapi, CA or be open to relocation
