Ensures that the hospital, entities, system owned buildings and all related buildings’ systems and equipment are installed and maintained in accordance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Coordinates and oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs per the standards in the industry and equipment manufacturers' recommendations.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Directs the day-to-day operations to include the repair, design, modification and preservation of building and grounds.
Project management experience with large healthcare construction projects.
Directs the operations of the physical plant, systems and grounds and the hospital-wide environmental safety, hazardous materials and waste management programs.
Recommends an annual budget to include all funding requirements for materials, supplies, personnel, equipment, utilities, contract bids, etc.
Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program to facilitate uninterrupted service to patients and to assure safe conditions of employment for staff.
Uses critical thinking skills to evaluate and resolve situations.
Creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals.
Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. MAster's degree in Engineering, Business.
Certified Hospital Facilities Manager (CHFM).
8-10 years of experience in facility engineering or construction environment with at least three (3) years in a leadership role in a healthcare facility.
Current licensure or certification, as applicable, in building construction, electrical, plumbing or HVAC, etc.
Facility is 200 beds.
Position reports to VP/COO.
Looking for someone that has Hospital Plant Operations Director experience that is an engineer that can communicate effectively to contractors and staff.
Strong understanding of surveys/audits in Joint Commission, CMMS, National Fire Protection Association and/or other similar governmental, state and industry regulatory agencies.
Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, building control systems, plumbing, etc.
Knowledge of life safety codes and emergency management procedures.
Strong knowledge of plant operations and maintenance codes and regulations.
Displays visionary leadership skills.
Experience with contract management/leasing agreement.
Experience with project management and/or contractor bid process.
