-Ensures continuous improvement of targeted metrics through the participating in the development of evidence based care processes and use of quality improvement techniques and tools.
-Provides oversight for the development operational processes to support the implementation of technology solutions.
-Ensures the development of project plans and process flows. Collaborates with other managers and departments to ensure adequate resources for successful implementation.
Leadership/Human Resource Management: Clinical Quality; Supervises the clinical specialists and quality coordinators to ensure the implementation of the clinical, service quality and compliance plan. Provides oversight for clinical specialist development and implementation of orientation, educational programs and clinical improvement efforts. Supervises the Coordinator of Clinical Systems in management of assigned technology projects and or upgrades of existing applications. Supervises the Systems Coordinator to ensure support to end user.
Operations: Participates in the annual workplan development. Ensures work is prioritized and implemented to meet targeted goals and timelines. Clinical Quality: Develops and implements policies and procedures based clinical practice, clinical quality and regulatory requirements. Works with branch leadership to ensure work processes are designed to ensure compliance to regulatory bodies. Ensures the development and implementation of planned clinical improvement efforts for home health and hospice to include clinical pathway development, implementation of innovations in clinical standards and documentation improvements. Provides oversight for Coordinator and Systems Coordinator for interface design, analysis of impact on other clinical departments, development of training materials, training of staff, and design and testing of specific tools. Ensures efficient processes are in place to support the work of the Coordinator and Systems Coordinator.
Continuous Improvement: Clinical Quality- Develops and implements clinical, service quality, compliance targets in coordination with organizational clinical targets. Develops and implements systems to track, analyze, measure, and report these targets. Ensures continuous improvement of targeted metrics through the participating in the development of evidence based care processes and use of quality improvement techniques and tools. Provides oversight for the development operational processes to support the implementation of technology solutions.. Ensures the development of project plans and process flows. Collaborates with other managers and departments to ensure adequate resources for successful implementation.
Strategic Planning: Clinical Quality; Designs systems to ensure that company exceeds Federal and State clinical quality targets related to home health and hospice. Addresses current and forecasts future clinical practice standard needs. Studies emerging clinical trends for home health and hospice and designs strategies and policies that improve the quality of home health and hospice services. Develops and maintains formal links with clinical planning and improvement, clinical roadmaps and guidelines and other divisions. Provides direction for the branch leadership staff to implement and lead quality initiatives. Conducts strategic planning for upgrades to existing technology or new technology to meet the expanding business requirements of the service, and prepares and presents proposals for improvements in technology that impact the cost effectiveness or quality of service.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a health services leadership role including clinical quality, compliance, and program development.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse license by date of hire/transfer.
- Experience with use of clinical information systems.
- Current knowledge of Home Health & Hospice state and federal regulatory and reimbursement requirements.
- Basic knowledge in various aspects of information system platforms, hardware, and software.
- Knowledge of information systems terminology, processing, and technical solutions.
- Knowledge of patient care systems and processes in multiple health care environments.
- Excellent leadership competencies particularly in performance management and team development.
- Health services experience with a Home Health & Hospice agency or large health care organization.
- Master's degree in health informatics or health care related field.
