Environmental Project Engineer

Location: Houston, TX/Allentown, PA/Los Angeles, CA

My client is a world class, forward-looking manufacturing company (chemical and gases space). They need an environmental engineer to handle the environmental permitting for major capital expansion involving a cutting-edge green energy technology that is being developed for their manufacturing plants across the US. You will be getting in on the ground floor of this new development as you will be retrieving and amending environmental permits for large-scale expansions related to this new green technology at their industrial gas and chemical plants, most of which will be in Texas and California. A significant aspect of this job, on top of regulatory, permitting, and technical knowledge, will be working cross-functionally; being able to talk to and work with people at every level of the company plus personnel at third party firms that are being used to design these expansions. Another aspect of this job will be working with people outside the company; specifically, government regulatory agents as you will need to build relations and communicate the workings and necessity of these capital expansions. My client is offering a generous compensation package with a competitive salary, bonus, relocation assistance if needed, minimal travel, and several different location options.

  • B.S. Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Environmental Science
  • 5+ years environmental permitting experience, including permitting for medium to large capital expansions is required
  • Air and water permitting knowledge are required
  • Great people and negotiating skills are required
  • Candidates could be out of an operating or consulting environment
