Assistant Administrator for Behavioral Health

UW Medicine recently announced exciting plans to build a new Behavioral Health Hospital at their Northwest campus.  This will significantly improve psychiatric services for the community and increase the number of psychiatric beds available. Currently they have a 27 bed, inpatient Geropsych department and an intensive OP program with a staff of 60. The new behavioral health hospital will have an many as 150 inpatient beds and offer expanded services to an adult and older adult population.  The Assistant Administrator for Behavioral Health (AABH) will lead this growth and transformation.  Direct reports include 2 Managers initially but will grow to 4-5 as the behavioral health programs expand.

 

Reporting to the CNO, the AABH provides strategic and programmatic leadership to ensure delivery of comprehensive behavioral health services to both voluntary and involuntary patient populations across both UMMC Montlake and Northwest Campuses.  He/she collaborates with key stakeholders to achieve strategic vision and provides programmatic oversight to ensure achieving key goals and quality standards. 

 

This leader will collaborate with city and county mental health leaders.  The AABH must ensure compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and other regulatory mental health statutes and requirements.  This position has direct responsibility for all programs related to behavioral health including but not limited to: Geropsychiatric Inpatient and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Voluntary Adult Program, Electroconvulsive Therapy Program, and Single Bed Certification process.

 

Successful candidates will have at minimum a BSN and Master's Degree. 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in psych including program development and strategic planning.
