Summary of Essential Roles and Responsibilities

The Project Manager facilitates collaborative community projects that to promote community development, job creation and a desirable quality of life in North Camden. The Project Manager performs 1) Project Planning & Management; 2) Grant Writing and Administration; 3) Community Engagement and Communications and 4) Administrative, Recordkeeping and Budget Management. The Project Manager’s duties may include but are not limited to affordable housing development & homeownership programs/projects, community engagement initiatives, communications and any other projects/programs assigned by the Executive Director.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities 

Manage key projects/programs:  Track and document progress toward achieving designated objectives; manage and/or perform work associated with projects/programs, including coordinating with community partners, contractors, staff, and/or volunteers; communicate areas of concern or interest to the Executive Director and take a lead role in troubleshooting, critical thinking and problem solving; conduct recordkeeping, budget management and other administrative tasks for projects 

Write and manage grants: Write & manage grants requesting $100,000+ of corporate/foundation funding annually Write & manage grants requesting $1M+ of government funding annually; collect program implementation and impact data; complete grant reports. 

Assist with project planning and research: Assess community needs; coordinate formal and/or informal meetings including community listening sessions and 1-on-1s; identify future projects/programs, research data from varied, credible resources to support planning efforts. 

Communications: Demonstrate the impact of CLHI's work through community listening sessions, creative writing, and visual media including photos or videos; develop content to be shared through CLHI's website, social media, e-newsletter.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The Project Manager: 

•          Has a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in community development or closely related field and at least 3 years of directly-related experience in the non-profit sector or community engagement/outreach. A combination of education and experience deemed appropriate for the duties and responsibilities of this position will meet these qualifications and be considered.

•          Is familiar with Camden City and North Camden and has a commitment to serving low to moderate income residents

•          Manages projects on schedule and within budget to meet objectives 

•          Applies grant writing and grant management best practices 

•          Demonstrates exceptional communication skills, including writing, listening and public speaking 

•          Applies a strong work ethic to projects with eagerness to learn new things and grow professionally 

•          Is proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and social media platforms 

•          Works independently while staying accountable

•          Understands and follows complex oral and written instructions/guidelines 

•          Works in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision to handle demanding timelines and multiple tasks/deadlines 

•          Displays professional conduct with diverse agencies, groups, and individuals

•          Learns quickly and puts to use new skills and knowledge learned from changing community and organizational needs

•          This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a vehicle.
