Job Description

The Position:

A Camden Homes Area Construction Manager oversees all construction activities in their area of responsibility to ensure he/she completes homes on time, with the finest quality workmanship at the best possible market value.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Camden Homes Core Values, Systems and Processes
    • Must follow written and established processes and procedures
  • Deliver homes on time
    • Complete homes in less than 120 calendar days
  • Deliver quality built homes
    • Five or less items on Quality Walk Inspections
  • Deliver homes on budget
    • Less than $500 in total EPO's per house. (BvA) 
  • Canons of Construction
    • Follow the 4 Cannons of Construction
  • Utilize Construction SCHEDULING software
    • Complete all tasks on time
  • Report Key Production Indicator 1
    • Send 14 Day Completion email to report delays
  • Report Key Production Indicator 2
    • Send Survey and Appraisal when FFF is done
  • Report Key Production Indicator 3
    • Send COMPLETED email on last day of schedule 
  • Report Key Production Indicator 4
    • Report SLAB and FRAMES when completed
  • Exceptional Customer Service 1
    • Schedule Orientation Walks and reply to CTC
  • Exceptional Customer Service 2
    • Respond to Warranty claims within 48 hours
  • Exceptional Customer Service 3
    • Resolve warranty within 10 business days
  • OSHA and Safety
    • Zero violations and Zero safety incidents
  • OSHA and Safety
    • Maintain Safety Binder
  • OSHA and Safety
    • Conduct and document yearly safety meeting
  • OSHA and Safety
    • Complete OSHA 10-Hour Certificate within first 100 days
  • Meeting Rhythms
    • Attend all huddles, monthly/quarterly meetings
  • Expense Reporting
    • Turn in all expense with explanations monthly
  • Management
    • Conduct Goal and Feedback Sessions with reports
  • Training
    • Recruit, Select, Train, Manage and Motivate


  • Use of Home Depot card for supplies related to Construction Management/project supplies/small tools
  • Use of Company American Express for fuel and other approved purchases
  • Can communicate up vendors chain of command to move the schedule forward
  • Discuss with Direct Supervisor before issuing raises and promotions
  • Discuss with Direct Supervisor before terminating direct reports
  • Write Policy, Systems and Processes with the approval of the Director of Construction 

Required Competencies:

  • TEAM MANAGEMENT: Manage a team of trades and suppliers to complete homes on time
  • DELEGATE: Delegate tasks as needed to complete homes and assign tasks to laborers/subordinates
  • LEADERSHIP: Communicate, motivate and train vendors on the expectations of Camden Homes
  • ORGANIZATION: Maintain a high level organization in day-to-day tasks. Use routines and checklists
  • COMMUNICATION: Highly skilled communicator. "Communicates Aggressively."
  • PRIORITIZING: Always do what matters most first
  • PLANNING: Fail to plan, plan to fail. Stay 1, 2 or 3 steps ahead. Use planning tools. (iPad/Planner)
  • RISK MANAGEMENT: Reacting positively and making the best decision to things un-planned
  • GOAL SETTING: Planning with intense focus. Setting, following and reaching key milestones
  • OPEN MINDED: Accept feedback. Continually improve. Be open to change
