Job Purpose
The User Experience Lead will partner across the CDA family of companies to support the delivery of high-quality member experiences that support business goals. Reporting to the Digital Experience & Website Manager, this role will have heavy focus on the organization’s member/customer facing websites but will collaborate in a way that influences member/customer first thinking in all areas of the business. In this role, you will be principally accountable for researching, designing and testing digital experiences that drive core retention, recruitment and utilization/engagement goals.
A successful candidate for this role is an astute listener, an efficient curator of data and customer insights, can communicate effectively and guide stakeholders, and has a knack for balancing art and science to deliver frictionless customer journeys.

User Experience (UX) Strategy and Execution
Serves as the key point of accountability for UX efforts on multiple projects. Advocates for user-centered approaches.
Utilizes human centered design principles & philosophy to build engaging customer experiences that solve problems or deliver the optimum user experience by understanding target user groups and intended use cases.
Develops clear understanding of the organization and its products/services to allow for delivery of engaging customer experiences that clearly align to business goals and objectives.
Supports organizational transformation by providing thought leadership, coaching, and mentoring on user experience best practices.
Participates in the creation and evolution of design systems and best practices that account for user needs and context, while reinforcing brand values and standards.
Supports development of and drives adherence to UX guidelines across projects.
Plans and serves as facilitator or observer for UX research and testing efforts.
Conducts competitive research and analysis.
Reports research findings to stakeholders.
Translates these findings into design solutions.
Collaborates with product/program managers, developers, content strategists, data intelligence, and visual designers to execute design concepts.
Creates artifacts that include personas, journey maps, user workflows, information architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, within project timelines and budgets.
Keeps a pulse on industry and competitor best practices to inform work and keep the organization pacing with user expectations.
Cross-Functional Leadership/Relationship Development
Collaborates effectively with all departments across the organization & creates alignment across teams, programs and products.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative cross-functional atmosphere.

Required Education, Licenses & Experience

5 years of User Experience work experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of visual design, human-centered design, brand development, and human interaction design.
An extreme passion for understanding the user, and a strong communicator of the user’s perspective.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical development teams
Demonstrated ability to explain the benefits of user experience testing and integrate within the design planning, estimation, and prioritization process. Experience planning and executing user experience studies.
Confident leading projects and groups to support sprint deliverables to meet deadlines and milestones.
Plans and delivers one’s own work with a sense of urgency, utilizing lean tools and techniques, while balancing priorities from multiple stakeholders.
Superior communication skills (both technical and non-technical).
Outstanding facilitation, brainstorming and collaboration skills – team builder and collaborator
Strong understanding of web and mobile OS. Content management system experience a plus. Wordpress experience strongly preferred.
Ability to prioritize and make critical decisions with limited information.
Ample experience collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups, communicating with diverse audiences, and balancing/negotiation priorities.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Basic understanding of how web browsers fetch HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images over a network before combining them to generate graphical web pages.
An understanding of responsive design, its purpose and how to successfully implement it.
Ability to design with accessibility in mind, as well as adherence to WCAG guidelines.
Experience using web metrics to form insights and using those to drive decisions.
A pattern-based approach to design, with an understanding of the role standardization plays in user experience.
In-depth knowledge of current versions of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
A strong online portfolio available for viewing.
Preferred Education, Licenses & Experience
Bachelor's degree in graphic, visual or human interaction design with an emphasis on design for digital channels.
Experience with an association or organization with a membership model.
Experience with project management and collaboration tools (Basecamp, Sharepoint, Confluence, JIRA, etc).

Salary Range: $77,000 - $100,100
