We are hiring a Isolated Recovery Security Engineer - 100% remote for a Contract position in Providence, RI

The Isolated Recovery (IR) Security Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert within the Security Engineering and Architecture (SEA) organization and will provide both programmatic and technical guidance in alignment with data protection objectives and policy requirements of the Corporate Security and Resilience (CS&R) organization. In this role you will characterize the application footprint, leverage risk-based approaches, and assist with development and implementation of modernized cyber recovery solutions to enhance Citizens security posture.

As a member of this team you will actively identify and manage application receipt into the program across thje company and in accordance with acceptance policy, through daily activities and established onboarding assessment processes - ensuring applications and dependencies are properly evaluated, recorded and mitigating action plans are monitored to completion.

The Isolated Recovery Security Engineer maintains current knowledge of business continuity and resilience practices, next-generation storage, backup, and recovery capabilities, cyber-attacks (i.e. ransomware, data destruction, etc.), cryptographic safeguards, network segmentation practices (on-premise and in cloud ), automation/orchestration frameworks, virtualization platforms, and recommends security enhancements and purchases that allow the company to deliver the most secure and robust protective technology solutions.

Primary responsibilities to include but not limited to:

Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company s digital technology footprint and application portfolio.
Supporting the planning, execution, and governance for all Isolated Recovery testing conducted to ensure that it supports the expectations of the organization and validates that the recovery capability aligns to the individual application Cyber Recovery Plans (CRP).
Providing oversight and governance for new project acceptance into the Isolated Recovery program to ensure the architectures being developed adhere to the operational resilience standards and support the Isolated Recovery policy requirements for resiliency.
Ensuring applications/systems test and cyber recovery plans are portable across hosting locations.
Evaluating both cloud native and cloud agnostic recovery capabilities and solutions to achieve desired end-state objectives to enable rapid data recovery and data archiving in both hot and cold storage.
Working on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Candidate should exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Researching and evaluating cyber recovery and protective solutions for adherence to documented company standards, policies, and regulatory responsibilities.
Supporting the Security Services Integration (Scrumban) pod deliverables.
Developing and maintaining relationships across all levels of the organization and providing security resiliency advice and consultation in line with program policies.
Required Skills/Experience:
4 or more years of Disaster Recovery compliance experience within a complex technology environment. Minimum of 1 year of direct experience with Cloud architectures and how those deployments are managed for Disaster Recovery and IT Resilience capabilities.
Knowledge and understanding of the design, development, or support of technical solutions across a variety of platforms supporting the business stated Maximum Allowable Outage (MAO)
Understanding of the AWS cloud architecture and how that architecture directly or indirectly impacts the DR testing of associated on premise datacenter applications.
Understanding of technology recovery planning, DR exercising, technology risk analysis, and /or execution of DR through a declared event.
Ability to provide technical knowledge and independent challenge on all aspects of disaster recovery governance. Experience or knowledge of IT Systems Development and / or IT Systems Operations
Familiarity with security industry and regulatory standards (ISO 17799, ISO 27001/2, ISO 31000, NIST 800 series, PCI, SOX, GLBA. etc.)
Excellent PC Skills (Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project, Visio, and O365)
Experience with building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, clients, peers, supervisors, subordinates and other internal company staff
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong attention to detail, Self-motivated, willing to take on challenges

Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
Bachelor s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required, along with a high technical competency to perform the needed responsibilities.
CISSP or other relevant industry certifications (TOGAF, ITIL)
Knowledge of ISO and NIST security standards preferred
