Currently, we are seeking a Sr. Hardware Design Engineer with at least 7 years of experience. Responsibilities

  • Cross-collaborative electrical design, prototyping, building and manufacturing of newest generation hardware devices
  • Design for manufacturability specific to solar power, battery operated embedded systems using various radios and processors
  • Design for automotive systems including heavy duty and OBDII
  • Work with contract manufacturers in transfer of design to production

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • Experience designing sub-systems and modules with wireless carrier technologies: HSPA/+, LTE Cat 4-6, LTE Cat 1/M as well as local wireless Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE
  • Experience with design and build package release into outsourced contract manufacturing; support through full production ramp and sustaining engineering phases
  • Strong electrical design capabilities leveraging latest modelling, simulation and analysis SW toolsets. Proficient in using CAD tools for schematic and layout
  • Ability to analyze, conceptualize and implement electrical designs and work with multiple teams to realize the designs
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with PCB Designers for high frequency, mixed signal Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design for high volume electronics assemblies integrating multi-core embedded microprocessor subsystems and wireless WAN, LAN, and PAN transceivers
  • Have followed best practice development procedures in an ISO-900x audited firm. Have incorporated DFT, DFM, and DFMEA processes as part of product validation
  • Experienced and capable of working on multiple projects concurrently and prioritizing between tasks
  • Effective at designing per schedule and budget

Strong Pluses

  • Experience designing for vehicle interface including heavy duty and OBDII
  • Recommended experience in C/C++ software development, Python scripting, and ATE platforms such as LabView
  • Strong lab test, measurement, and analysis skills using latest electronics diagnostic equipment
  • Experience with emissions, regulatory, and network certification procedures for world-wide product shipments
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or similar
