What can you expect?

Our Facilities Engineer (Supervisor) will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining all Mechanical (HVAC, Boilers, Pumps, etc.), electrical (low voltage systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Nurse Call systems, phone systems, plumbing, major appliances, unit turns, housekeeping and amenities at the community.

What will you do as a Facilities Engineer?

  • Hire, train, and oversees the duties of maintenance team members relative to the priorities and assigned duties of each workday.
  • Manage preventative maintenance, Life Safety program, and spend-down.
  • Maintain open communication with ED, Department Heads, Facility Specialists, and Vendors.
  • Ensure ED is immediately informed of any emergency issues that arise.
  • Ensure that all repairs and services are completed correctly, on time, and within budget.
  • Ensure that all areas of office premises, halls, corridors, stairs, eating places, resident living areas, and common areas are clean, in good physical condition, and in working order per the standards established by the community.
  • Ensures preventative maintenance program is in place and is being implemented.
  • Ensure the maintenance/tools equipment is repaired and kept in good working condition.
  • Completes the employee work schedule and posts the schedule in a timely manner.
  • Follow established safety precautions in the performance of duties, particularly regarding using equipment you have been trained to use and/or using proper lifting techniques.

  • Positive team player attitude and love working with people!
  • Bachelor's Degree or Trade School preferred
  • Minimum three years experience in managing apartment-, senior living, or large complex maintenance.
  • Experience with the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair and texturing, painting, and general maintenance skillset.
  • Experience in carpet cleaning. Ability to use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Previous experience working in commercial property, Hotel, Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), Memory Care (MC), or Senior Living experience is a plus!
