The Cabin Creek Health Systems (CCHS) is recruiting new behavioral health providers (BHPs). This is a great opportunity to join the health care staff of a progressive Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has achieved Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) designation. BHPs are respected as expert collaborators in the inter-professional patient care team model of integrated primary care (IPC) honored at CCHS. At CCHS you will have the opportunity to provide much needed service to typically underserved populations who face barriers to accessing behavioral health services in rural areas. By working as a fully integrated behavioral health provider, patients will be able to access your services through timely consultation during medical visits, as well as more traditional outpatient services tailored to patients’ needs and resources. This integration supports our mission to promote health and well-being to our patients.
BHPs offer brief consultation to patients and care teams, brief screening and assessment, diagnostic clarification, and outpatient psychotherapy services. Community-based BHPs maintain a generalist practice, providing services to patients from childhood to end of life, presenting with array of behavioral health concerns. School-based providers will provide consultation and outpatient behavioral health services. Based on your training and expertise, you will be able to work with administrators to shape your practice and involvement in projects to fit your professional and clinical interests.
As part of your involvement in collaborative patient care, you will have the opportunity to participate in regular inter-professional teamwork through various activities including team huddles, operations and systems planning, and team-based projects in regular staff meetings and workgroup sessions. BHPs also have access to peer support and collaboration via monthly Behavioral Health Team meetings and daily consultations through online and telephone-based networking and collaboration across sites. Despite being at different sites, BHPs remain connected and supported through frequent colleague consultation. CCHS is supportive of professional development and encourages involvement in related activities including association membership, conference participation, and career-long learning and competency development.
CCHS’s health centers are in the hills of southern West Virginia, within easy reach of many outdoor adventure opportunities including hiking, rock climbing, camping, white water rafting and boating, skiing, fishing and hunting. Charleston West Virginia offers a rich array of cultural programs and events throughout the year including live theater and live music, such as the internationally acclaimed Mountain Stage.
