Position Title: Subject Matter Expert (III)
Position Location: This position is remote and onsite in Falls Church, VA (1-2 meetings per week)
Daily Responsibilities:
- Performs staff officer activities and planning requirements with experience in military health technical writing, editing, and critically analyzing:
- Government reports, NDAA, and related documents
- Department of Health Affairs, DoD, and DHA Policy and regulatory compliance documents
- PowerPoint presentations used to brief DHA Leadership and stakeholders
- Expertly draft and staff policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), fact sheets, white papers, memorandums, communication plans, executive talking points, survey questions, position descriptions, procedural instruction and related administrative instructions.
- Summarize data for the preparation and submission of reports, leads working group efforts as directed
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates staffing actions involving transformation efforts.
- Perform technical reviews and mission analysis to develop functional requirements and lead the associated working groups, committees and/or chartered boards
- Author informative whitepapers and EXSUMS
- Participate in working groups to develop customer focused solutions
- Clearly understand DHA priorities and able to communicate the vision in depth to stakeholders
- Expertly prepare and staff actions within the DHA processes to completion
Required Years of Experience (min):
- Minimum of 5-years of experience within Military Health System (MHS) or Public health activities.
- 2-4 Years experience within the Defense Health Agency
Required Degree/Certifications:
- MA/MS Degree Public Health or Health Administration
Required Experience:
- Strong experience working in or at the HQ level on a DOD staff
- Strong background in successfully performing staffing actions and related tasks in a DoD environment
- In-depth knowledge of military culture and structure to best support MHS initiatives and collaboration within the DoD and with other academic institutions
- Familiarity with common quantitative and qualitative research methods and related software programs
- Strong technical writing skills to clearly, logically, and succinctly communicate project-related information within the DHA.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, and have strong oral and written communication abilities, with strong conceptual and systems-thinking abilities and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience creating solutions using out of the box SharePoint tools a plus
- Advanced of Microsoft Office business suite, strong skills in Excel; Strong skills in PowerPoint.
- Ability to use Word to prepare reports, briefings, and related work products
- Demonstrated experience developing and deploying SharePoint solutions (SharePoint certifications a plus)
