Corrugated Steel Rule Die Technician

As the Corrugated Steel Rule Die Technician you are responsible for the safe and efficient use of the equipment and tools, the adequacy of the quality and quantity of the ruling materials and meeting the production and quality standards required for performing the job.

Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results

• Mounts the dieboard on ruling cylinder or work table and seats all washers on rotary dies
• Assembles appropriate ruling materials required from customer order information and customers equipment specification information
• Visually check dieboards for errors by comparing against drawing and/or sample
• Cuts forms and installs ruling materials using hand tools
• Computes length of ruling materials by type and records information
• Cleans dieboard for next operation
• Performs quality appraisal or requests at completion of each job
• Corrects any flaws detected in completed work
• Performs routine equipment maintenance as directed

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Rotary and flat die making or die repair a plus
• At least one year manufacturing experience preferred

• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read and follow customers specifications
• Work with miscellaneous hand tools
• Collaborate within a team to execute the most efficient workflow
• Accounting for and recording of materials being used
• Ability to read a ruler and measure accurately

Responsibilities and Physical Demands:

• Punctual with good attendance
• Ability to work overtime when necessary
• Move up to 50 lbs
• Use hands to grasp, handle
• Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours at a time
• Pass a pre-employment drug test

Training:

• Training in rubbering cutting dies (flat & rotary)
• Understanding of following CAD layouts
• Cross-training into other aspects of die making
