We are seeking a sharp, enthusiastic team player who will join our team as Client Support Specialist/Bookkeeper for Clients. What our Client Support Specialist/Bookkeeper for Clients will do

  • Foster communication, quality control, and improve customer service with client accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and accounting electronic files for bookkeeping purposes. Typical tasks include performing bank reconciliations, preparing payroll journal entries, and preparing monthly financial statements.
  • Assist when necessary with accounts payable services including reviewing vendor invoices, preparing check requests, monitoring financial activities and maintaining vendor files.
  • Assist with all financial reporting (4 to 5 times a year) to the chartering agencies of clients.
  • Directly interface with clients, teammates, authorizers and other stakeholders for inquiries and information gathering via phone, face to face meetings, and electronic communication.
  • Prepare and review general ledger entries for accuracy (and balancing as needed). Prepare year-end journal entries including accruals and depreciation.
  • Assemble information requested by year-end auditors. Be able to explain journal entries made.
  • Understand and be able to discuss the financial condition of all clients.
  • Assist in other business services related activities such as insurance renewals, compliance reporting, etc.

What our Client Support Specialist/Bookkeeper for Clients Needs

  • Strong bookkeeping skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business
  • Customer Service Skills / Strong verbal and written communication abilities/ Enjoys corresponding daily with all different types of school site personnel/ Experience in managing several clients at one time.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, business principles and standard operating practices, and a strong accounting background.
  • Knowledge of California public education system including accounting and policies a plus.
  • Knowledge of Sage 300.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
  • Ability to work as a member of a team. Ability to self-start, prioritize, and multi-task.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with stakeholders and teammates.
  • Interest and commitment to education reform, particularly in regard to the Charter School movement.

Compensation for the Client Support Specialist/Bookkeeper role is commensurate with experience and has a budgeted range of 45k - 52k per year. Benefits for the Accountant for Clients role include medical and dental insurance.
