Field Service Engineer- Biomedical

Interfaces directly with customers to ensure success in the resolution of technical matters and product performance issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspects, installs, and services medical and related technical equipment in various medical institutions including but not limited to emergency medical services, hospitals, free standing same day surgery centers, clinics, medical research facilities, dental facilities and veterinarian facilities.
  • Trouble shooting, diagnostics repair, calibration and maintaining equipment, using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, computer software/hardware and knowledge of manufacturers’ manuals and preventative-maintenance schedules.
  • Providing Preventive Maintenance.
  • Manage van, parts and inventory.
  • Build a positive customer relationship and deliver excellent service experiences.
  • Maintain communications with customers in resolving problems and/or bring problems to the customer’s attention
  • Contributes to accident free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
  • Maintain daily schedule on the EMSAR Dispatching system to ensure communication between Management and Field Technicians.
  • Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by Supervision/Management.
  • Available and willing to work days, evenings and weekends traveling as necessary
  • Will utilize specialized Computer Maintenance Management System for documentation of all medical device/equipment installation, service and repairs.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with ISO processes.
  • Must adhere to metrics; hours accountability, inventory, overtime accountability, etc.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated top-notch customer relations skills. • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Thorough knowledge and proficient level computer skills in Database Management and MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail, timeliness, and paperwork completion.
  • Complete detailed documentation accurately and timely
  • Problem solving/Analysis
  • Knowledge of personal protection equipment use and fire precautions in the health care setting
  • Mechanical/Technical Capacity.
  • Willing to work days, evenings, weekends and occasional overnight travel.
  • Discretion

Education/ Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school education.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, supported by strong analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer skills (MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to comprehend and operate company software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, timeliness, and paperwork completion.
  • Proven technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Valid Drivers’ license and clean driving record.
  • Current Blood Borne Pathogens Training Certificate.
  • Current on OSHA required immunizations.
  • Hepatitis B immunization.
  • Annual Tuberculin Screen.

Decision Making Authority

  • Maintains EMSAR corporate values and policy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The Field Service Technician does not have supervisory responsibilities.
