The Account Executive – Business Development is primarily responsible for working with Business Development in developing new business and secondarily responsible for working on existing base of business and growing those opportunities further.  

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Primary Focus: Work on developing new opportunities/business with Business Development
  • Understanding and knowing the marketplace, buildings, office parks in a set geographic region.
  • Researching potential clients and developing a customer profile
  • Client engagements (calls, emails, linked-in, engagement tools etc.)
  • Attending networking events
  • Joining an industry related group and work to get a position within the organization.
  • Continue Independent networking within one’s network
  • Identify key players within the firms and begin to build a relationship
  • Quarterly activities to stay top of mind within the firm
  • Joint events with vendor partners (HMI, Ritz, Contract Sources etc)
  • OPM firm responsibilities
  • Identify key players within the firms and begin to build a relationship
  • Quarterly activities to stay top of mind within the firm
  • Secondary Focus: Continue working existing base business and exploring new opportunities
  • Continue to work with existing client base
  • Pursue existing leads/opportunities
  • Close new opportunities that are assigned
  • Continued professional development

  • Other duties as required

Required Education, Skills, and Experience: 

  • 4 year degree, concentration in Marketing or Business preferred 
  • 2-5 years of work experience – industry experience extremely helpful
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required
  • Vehicle insurance coverage must meet standard set by the company
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of people within and outside of COP:
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn and use new computer programs/applications
  • Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans and other related technical drawings
  • Exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion in handling confidential materials and matters as well as highly complex sales challenges


Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers


Work Environment:

  • Work performed in fast-paced office environment daily with visits to various sites including warehouse, construction sites, client sites and offices
