Manufacturing SaaS Business Development and Account Executive

PAY TRANSPARENCY: USD Starting Base Range $75000 - $90000 / year with uncapped competitive commission payout structure. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, CPNET is a constantly evolving, rising startup. Until now, our technical founder has been leading the charge at sales. While that has helped us gain a toehold position in the market, we are now primed and ready to expand exponentially.

What that means is that we are looking to add a seasoned, savvy sales professional with experience selling highly technical solutions into mid-to-large manufacturing accounts. But this role has a bit of a twist to it …

As our first sales professional, the person we hire will have to do it all by themselves for a while. If hired, we will expect you to take ownership of business development and sales and to act as the account executive. By serving in this multi-disciplinary role for a while, what this means is that you will be uniquely positioned--front and center--as we scale the business and build out the sales organization, which should yield unparalleled career and income opportunities!

  • Using a variety of techniques to effectively research, identify and target prime prospects for new company business
  • Reaching out to prime prospects by phone, email, chat, SMS, Zoom, Linkedin, and other means to uncover opportunities to solve their problems using our products/services
  • Qualifying prime prospects to advance through the sales pipeline by comparing information learned during omnichannel exchanges with a prospect to key client criteria established by CPNET
  • Regularly and actively collaborating with company leadership, marketing, and other team members to exchange relevant and timely information about the status of leads/qualified prospects, scheduling appointments, and other key pipeline progress milestones and customer discoveries
  • Refining/implementing the sales playbook and “getting to yes” strategies; closing new business deals by running POC’s and coordinating requirements; delivering effective customer-facing sales presentations and proposals; integrating contract requirements with business operations and managing contract negotiations; handling contract management.
  • Conducting whatever follow-up is required to promote and support activities associated with converting qualified leads to new customer sales; among other duties, this could involve uncovering new needs and up-sell opportunities with current clients, etc.
  • Regularly tracking, preparing, and delivering accurate data to support pipeline management; providing other metrics used by company leadership to develop, adjust, test, and refine sales and marketing strategies, forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making.
  • Effectively demonstrating company products at site visits, trade shows, meetings, and other venues.
  • Working with the implementation engineering team to deliver values to our customers and drive CPNET AI subscription renewal cycle
  • Conducting post-sale analysis and de-brief, including insightful evaluation of budget variance and other sales metrics.

We do have some basic job entry requirements, they are:

  • Experience in a startup or growth stage software company with relevant manufacturing software sales experience
  • 5+ years of technical SaaS sales experience and a solid command of the sales process in the software industry
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently to meet/exceed company goals.
  • “Day 1” comfort level with strategic cold-calling, being able to take the initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment; taking personal ownership of business activities and outcomes is expected.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with others, especially business decision-makers and selection committee members is key.
  • Effective, persuasive, and compelling communications skills are critical, as are social perceptiveness and active listening skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; business acumen, high attention to detail, superb follow-up and time management skills are essential.
  • Background checks (criminal/education/employment/reference/credit/DMV) will be performed; results must be satisfactory to the company.
  • Approximate Travel Requirements: 25%. Regular on-going day and overnight travel is required; some sporadic, future international travel may be necessary. Having a valid driver's license, a registered and insured vehicle, and the ability to drive to and from prospective/current accounts is necessary; must also be able to travel by common carrier air and/or train for prospect/customer site visits and industry tradeshows and other events.
  • If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures and other prescribed best practices/industry standards.

  • Experience in scaling sales at an early-stage startup
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
