CPM Americas is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our BU team that supports several manufacturing sites located throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will be based in Waterloo, IA at our major manufacturing site or in Blaine, MN at our corporate offices (remote/hybrid/travel will all be taken into consideration). A successful candidate must be engaging, proactive and eager to take on new challenges as a team player. Attention to detail and accuracy is required. Organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, conflict management skills and a continuous learning attitude are required. Candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally to internal and external stakeholders. Some travel will be required.

Primary Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA, active or inactive)
  • Demonstrated understanding of US GAAP
  • 5+ Years of related experience in accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting and internal controls
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in public accounting (global firm ideal)
  • SAP Business One experience
  • Graduate degree in an applicable field
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience, supporting a team

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Assist controller with business unit financial reporting including budgeting and forecasting
  • Provide operational financial analysis to department managers
  • Assist controller with financial statement audit
  • Point of contact with the corporate controlling team
  • Identify opportunities and implement continuous improvement in accounting processes
  • Participation on projects as directed

Ideal Candidates Would Possess:
  • A process driven, customer focused state of mind
  • Experience with FP&A decks (major drivers, supplemental walks, long range planning, etc.)
  • Ability to balance a fast paced environment, with a financial timeline, and prioritization
