IT ASSET MANAGMENT ADMIN

This role helps maintain CPL's critical network infrastructure by overseeing IT inventory management across the entire firm.

THE IT ASSET MANAGEMENT ADMIN AT CPL

As an integral member of the technology team, the IT Asset Manager supports our IT professionals in their mission to provide exceptional, "lifesaving" assistance to internal business partners, handling critical documentation and persistently seeking new ways to optimize workflows.

Reporting to the Director of Technology Operations, you're responsible for maintaining accurate records and databases containing important firm documentation, including licenses, warranties and service agreements for hardware and software systems. By utilizing your expert knowledge of foundational technical concepts, practices and procedures, you minimize overall organizational costs and facilitate strategic product standardization and tracking.

In addition, you ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations related to IT assets and conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all asset management records. You also work closely with other departments to ensure that IT assets are properly accounted for throughout their lifecycle. Proactive and hardworking, you set a strong example for the team by maintaining a high level of discretion and professionalism at all times.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • Associate Degree in computer science and have at least three (3) years of experience in IT operations, and two (2) years of experience in asset management and financial planning/tracking for IT processes - or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT hardware, networking concepts and physical network connectivity, and have exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • You're a team player who maintains a positive attitude while assisting users.
  • You're naturally process-oriented and thrive in a structured environment
  • You're personable, demonstrating strong communication skills both in person and via written correspondence.
  • You have a knack for managing multiple projects concurrently, and know how to prioritize tasks accordingly
  • You're capable of making independent business decisions, with a focus on cost reduction in the firm's best interests
  • Forward-looking and innovative, you strive to introduce new ideas and processes that can improve performance and overall productivity
  • You're highly capable of training and assisting team members in various applications

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
  • You utilize a strength-based approach to engage team members in their daily tasks, focusing on their capabilities rather than their weaknesses.
  • You know how to coach your team both independently and as a whole, inspiring enthusiasm and providing encouragement when needed.
  • You can establish short and long-term goals and create appropriate timelines for their completion, subsequently assigning specialized teams to accommodate related needs.
  • You can efficiently balance projects, teams, deadlines, and budgets.
  • You have an aptitude for creative problem-solving, particularly in time-sensitive situations which require fast turnaround.

CORE DUTIES
  • Manage the entire hardware and software product lifecycle.
  • Maintain and monitor CPL's hardware/software inventory database to ensure firmwide compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings pertaining to renewals, software licensing and services.
  • Track and renew hardware and software maintenance agreements and warranties.
  • Oversee the procurement, receipt, inventory and distribution of software and hardware.
  • Research equipment and software and subsequently make informed suggestions for vendors, manufacturers and product selection.
  • Review and revise standard equipment configuration policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the utilization of software and hardware and provide recommendations for requirements.
  • Perform additional research and routine administrative duties as requested.
  • Collaborate with our finance team, including the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as appropriate.
  • Partake in on-call/after-hours contact when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
