QA Automation Engineer

Job Description

Automation is key to IT’s ability to scale and effectively deliver high-quality custom solutions. We are seeking a motivated QA Engineer to develop automation test scripts and help design and build an automated testing framework. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and will help increase test coverage and consistency in a shorter amount of time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop test automation and data input scripts using UiPath, JavaScript, REST APIs, and T-SQL
  • Contribute to the design and development of automated testing frameworks and libraries
  • Perform manual QA tests as applicable, where automation is not possible or practical
  • Support all testing efforts including functional, system integration, and regression testing across web, mobile, and desktop applications and systems
  • Review requirements and acceptance criteria for testability; collaborate with the IT Application Delivery team to determine the most effective testing strategy
  • Develop and document test plans, test scenarios, and test cases
  • Document and report defects; coordinate with appropriate resources to ensure proper tracking and resolution of all defects
  • Research and proactively recommend improvements for testing tools and techniques
  • Participate in Scrum activities
  • Verify end-user expectations are met during the testing process as well as post-implementation
  • Conduct research and proactively make recommendations to improve tools and techniques
  • Qualifications
  • BS degree in computer science or related field preferred
  • 5+ years professional experience as a QA Analyst/Tester
  • 3+ years with UiPath or other RPA tools or testing frameworks such as Selenium
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with a managed language (C#, Java), SQL, REST APIs, JavaScript, and a scripting language (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Experience incorporating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Working knowledge of full lifecycle application development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and thorough in testing assignments
  • Scrum and/or Kanban experience preferred
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or TestRail preferred
  • Experience testing Salesforce, e-commerce, and workflow-driven systems preferred
