OVERVIEW: We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. You'll wear many hats and be exposed to various facets of the business. This position will report to the Accounting Supervisor and work closely with the rest of the Finance team. This is a hybrid remote position and candidates must be able to work on-site in El Segundo at least 2 days a week.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform monthly close tasks to achieve internal and external reporting timelines, ensuring all necessary adjustments and accruals are recorded accurately
• Thoroughly review and verify hospital invoices for accuracy, ensuring all charges are in compliance with internal financial policies and procedures, including proper coding, authorization, and documentation
• Assist in the process of obtaining practice management system data
• Work closely with hospital managers to align in policy related to cash handling, AR management and inventory control
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and maintain rollforwards
• Conduct month budget variance analysis for various P&L accounts to assess and report deviations from planned financial targets
• Monitor GL activity throughout the month and identify anomalies and propose necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Review deposit activities and reconcile bank accounts for each individual hospital
• Collaborate with the management team to identify and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency
• Perform ad hoc analysis
COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
• Functional understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Detail oriented with proven analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Innovative computer skills on MS Office and accounting database
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage deadlines
• Passion, energy, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Economics
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting work experience
COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Comfortable working in Microsoft Office
LOCATION:
• Hybrid role with the requirement to work from the corporate office in El Segundo, CA at least two days per week, depending on the business need
