Do you judge games by their covers? Do you follow an unhealthy number of artists and designers? Do you often find yourself thinking, "I wish this was 100% weirder?" If so, read on!

COLOR is a young creative agency dedicated to creating, destroying, rising from the ashes, destroying, and then creating again.

We're in need of a talented, passionate, ego-free Senior Art Director with a strong aesthetic and unique point of view to lead the gaming division to visual nirvana.

And if the above didn't make it obvious, a healthy love for and comfortable familiarity with games of all stripes is a must!

Strong preference for candidates located in WA, CA, TN, TX, IN, MN, NJ

Requirements

An excellent portfolio that demonstrates design, art direction, creative deck work, and unique voice
Strong design skills and an eye for detail
Fluency in Illustrator and Photoshop
Experience with AAA game studios or big entertainment brands
Knowledge of and respect for strict brand guidelines and IP rules
Strong emphasis on layout and typography
Motivation to stay current with design trends without following them blindly
Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions
Ability to work under pressure/tight turnarounds while maintaining motivation
Ability to easily switch gears between projects
Experience clearly directing a small but diverse team
Ability to present ideas to clients and pivot as needed on the fly
Experience working directly with a Creative Director for reviews and guidance

What You'll Do

Lead a growing team of designers and animators
Art direct a wide variety of content and campaigns, with a healthy slant towards motion and gameplay:
- Motion design and 3D
- Digital & web, social posts
- Live-action productions
- Live events
Work with a CD and copywriter to take concepts from pitch to final
Put together creative decks that clearly outline and justify concepts and art direction
Create mood boards, storyboards, and style frames as needed
Work closely with producers, copywriters, creative directors, and creative leads

Bonus Round

Background in game art
Familiarity with After Effects
Familiarity with 3D process and Cinema 4D
Interest in game engines like Unity and Unreal
