You must be someone who can manage tax and financial processes: sales tax, general tax compliance and must have an understanding of GAAP and its application in a retail environment.
Primary responsibility is the coordination and completion of the fiscal month-end closing process; Ensure journal entries are recorded timely and accurately
Preparing account analysis and reconciliations on various balance sheet and income statement accounts using Excel including pivot tables or Access databases; Provide explanations for significant variances to prior year or budget amounts in a clear and concise manner
Audit accounts for errors, misinformation, fraud, and overspending
Monitor daily transactions and recommend ways we can improve our financial health
Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable postings
Create reports and collate data to compile tax returns
Ensure compliance with tax regulations (state and federal)
Regularly brief management on the company’s financial position and recommend solutions to improve results.
Creating a more efficient workflow with fewer errors and time needed
Manage monthly Financial Statement according to the local GAAP
Complete special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance and a CPA Certification is REQUIRED
A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a CPA
1-2 years of SEC experience
Outstanding knowledge of Sales Tax and General Tax Compliance is REQUIRED
Understanding of GAAP and its application in a retail company
Self-starter, time-management and ability to take ownership of projects
